Day 3 Update.
I didn't even touch the curtains, or any other sewing. BUT I did my kitchen counter & that is a huge "throw it all right there" spot in our house. And I primed more of the kitchen & cabinets to be painted so I did accomplish forward progression on unfinished projects!
Day 4 Goal:
Survival Day. The playroom has stayed maintained. The counter is clean. I will attempt to squeeze in some painting over the primer yet tonight.....but we have been go, go, go and still have more running to get done. With some of the kids away this weekend, I hope to be slightly more materially productive :)

Note to my dearest friends.
I know you are busy, and I appreciate your reading my note to you :)
Please know that my decision to organize and keep it that way is a hard one. And it is in no way a sign of what I may think of anyone else's homes. I don't care what your house looks like, I care that you are my friend. I care that you & your family are healthy, safe and mostly happy. I will not judge, because you know the state of my house over the past.
It is however, all about my laziness. That's right, just tell me everytime you see me that I am lazy. It will keep me motivated to finish. Lazy because I absolutely do not want to clean up all of this *stuff* anymore! :)

The Beginning - Day 3
Same goal as before. :)
Day 2 update.
Mostly stress free, until the end when we were all overtired from the day. Pictures in the evening were rough, but we survived. We swam at a friend's and did a small lunch. Wiped us out. But we are going back for more on Thursday! Happiness & Sunshine :)
Day 3 Goal
I'm exhausted today. Mentally, physically, emotionally drained from all the things I've dealt with over the past few weeks. Today's minimalism goal - finish the kitchen curtain sewing project I started & just have sitting around. One simple project to finish. And to find my canning jars....we have food to store!

The Beginning - Day 2
Goal:
Organize the household. Simplify the mess by purging the unnecessary. Declutter to the point of easy clean & appealing looks.
My lofty goal is to have gone thru the entire household within a month. And then to maintain beyond that.
Day 1 Update.
My assistant came in the afternoon for work & said she has never seen the room so clean. Clean isn't the difference, it's vacuumed, windexed and wiped walls all the same as it has always been. Clutter is the difference. Rid the clutter, things look better.
I'll consider it a success, even though there is more I want to do in there.
And my desk area doesn't count, because well I'm just not up for that quite yet.
And I jumped in early on decluttering my stress. Who needs 500+ friends?! Not I, I will take the very select few who have been there and are there still for myself and my family. Thank you to those who really put that part into perspective yesterday, it made that step so much easier. FB is gone.
Day 2 Goal:
Simplify family fun. We aren't going to be home much today and minimalism isn't only about materials. Today we are just going to hang out, and enjoy each other & the friends we have that invited the munchkins to their pool. Less stress, that is the ultimate goal achieved in this all.
